Wide Ball How much do bowlers hate wides? This much…and more! So what constitutes a wide ball? A nutshell definition might be that the ball
is not close enough to the batsman for him to be able to
hit it. It’s as much to do with the position of the
batsman, as the wickets. If the batsman brings the ball sufficiently
within reach, by stepping towards it… Then the same ball would not be judged a wide. However, that doesn’t mean that the batsman
can force a wide decision by stepping away from the ball. For a closer inspection of the laws concerning
a wide ball, refer to Law 25 in the MCC’s: The Laws Of Cricket.

  1. What is measurement of wide crease for normal stance? as I have seen on net 37 inches… It looks pretty short as i have seen on matches

  2. What is the exact rule for wide ball, when a batsman tries to play a reverse shot or a switch hit, and the bowler fires the ball down the "original" leg side?
