Trying to be Texan You can miss right off the tee all day… left is always dead Didn’t you put the left miss into play a couple days ago How many times does he get this up and down out of ten? I’m gonna go with a one Oh my goodness, great shot! Very tight, tight, tight piece of property. We’re making it work. Am I nervous about Icarito driving an RV? Yeah, I am. That’s a pretty good start No Laying Up was here Here we find the scripting of our challenger. I think Tron is the challenger Tron talk to me about you know, obviously your outfits have been a story to keep an eye on each day. A little more muted today Definitely, I didn’t you know, I didn’t want to stunt on Randy. Yeah, I respect him too much for that You know, this is about as muted as I could go. You know Tron, and I have a long history college roommates Traveled this great country together. Yeah, we took a journey to Colorado We got stuck in Kansas for seven days on the way out in a snowstorm. You were driving out there We were gonna be a chairlift operators. Ski bums? Yeah, essentially. Didn’t get to Breckenridge in time for our Our employee housing. And so we ended up staying on a guy I know We stayed on his floor for like a month and a half We got deep into like the the afternoon food channel lineup It was like a murderer’s row back then. But what an honor to be able to compete at a course like Pasatiempo Which I know is your favorite. The only time I ever played it was on Tron’s bachelor party now we’re kind of coming full circle. Lots of you know Lots of circle life stuff going on. I’m not saying, I’m not ready against Tron in any way, but I’m rooting for Randy I would love to see him overcome his demons, but like Yesterday was his demon. It was demonic. Oh, it was it was, He probably gave up six to seven shots inside five feet Ah really. Not gonna play the part of the awful putter today I’m not gonna I’m not gonna play to that part. Just terrible putting, but on the 18th hole Max Homa, who friend of the program, put his hands on you Put his hands on me a little bit If you’re gonna tabletop, you got to stand far away cause your eyes are like way over the ball. Okay, so you’re taking it like Okay. I hit like one practice putt, and it was better than some other ones. So Let’s see, is it holding up? I mean Now I think y’all are rattled because you know how serious this things gonna be. Well, for Tron I think he should We should recreate the Mack Daddy Tiger photo with Mack Daddy Tron. Okay, I think that’s very very doable. Randy We’re gonna do Randy. We’re gonna go PGA Tour superstore or the nearest golf super store and buy him an egregious amount of orange Puma gear, and He’s gonna dress up like Ricky Fowler. May the best man win. I look forward to it. All right. Are you nervous? You feel good? Where you at? Like, listen nervous? No Good? No Tees, I think we’re gonna play the white tees 6125 is used. USGA sent it up to promote birdies Yeah, I think it’s an NLU initiative this year. Yeah We’ve kind of been teeing it forward, teeing it forward. You know what it’s been kind of fun. It’s yeah, it hasn’t not been fun There you have it. He gets like a Stroke on the first five or six holes, four of the first five, four of the first five. So it’s like, and that’s not good cause Randy Usually doesn’t start real strong, he’s gotta turn the engine over, and that usually happens around like eight or nine He’s got to come out digging on those holes cause Randy Gives away too many holes. Yeah, so he’s got to be up He’s got to go into the turn with the lead I think Hey, how you doing? We got a round at Pasatiempo. Thank you See the way she smiled at me? You how when you go Back to something that you’ve done like 10 years ago, and you always go back, and it feels smaller? Sure. This felt bigger Even bigger than I remember like the elevation changes were bigger. The slopes were bigger. The entire scale was shockingly large fresh off the success of the development of Cypress Point famed amateur golfer and entrepreneur Marion Hollins set out to build the best course west of the, Mississippi She again enlisted the services of Alistair McKenzie, and the result of their efforts is Pasatiempo Golf Club McKenzie is famous for designing some of the best and highest ranked golf courses in the world. Places like Cypress Point, Royal Melbourne, and Augusta National But it was the next course on our tour that he would identify as his favorite, and even the course where he made his American home in fact It was a round at Pasatiempo that inspired Bobby Jones to hire McKenzie to design his final course, Augusta National. But unlike Augusta and Cypress, Pasatiempo is open to the public, and that’s why we’re here today. All right, let’s go. All right This is my happy place. Yeah, I’m probably gonna get kind of drunk, so I won’t be driving after this Mostly all member play, we do sell public tee times um at a pretty premium rate So we get minimal public play, just enough so that our tee sheet stays, you know, pretty full. Underrated storyline Might be Tron The c-suite, running through the strap boys might be the ultimate ball don’t lie. I let him off. That’s a really bad Look if he comes in and just d**k slaps both the strap boys. He didn’t d**k slap me, I d**k slapped myself. Well, that’s maybe even worse. in 2007 Tom Doke performed a significant restoration Project which had a relatively simple goal to preserve the Mackenzie legacy as well as possible considering the modern realities of golf they’re guiding principles first to add nothing foreign to the original design and Second to enhance the pleasurable excitement that the architects sought to provide. Took out a lot of trees, it really grew up On the original design there were no trees out here Restored some of the bunkers they kind of got grown in so he went back put some some of the fingers in there come Alright, good luck. Big Randy, good luck. Thank you Favorite holes in the front nine I’m a huge fan. I like number one I think it’s a great starter with a little peek at the ocean that you get, and it’s kind of a nice warm up hole You can kind of bomb it out there And the green is a little tougher than you think it’s gonna be. Oh And no surprise there It’s gonna be a 5 to start He’s gonna concede that one to Big Randy who takes the first hole You gotta expect a premium player like Randy to make premium plays Be good baby! Three is interesting, it’s hard, but it’s almost like hey take your best shot. It’s 235 straight uphill it’s a Prevailing wind usually downwind today, it’s into the wind. This makes this hole play quite long. I have hit the green there, and it’s a really, really good feeling But I think that’s what I like about the course in general it’s like It makes the good feel really good, cause you know like God I executed there, and it’s like I got rewarded What is that bunker even doing there? Oh, what a shot Right here on the sixth hole Pasatiempo Home of the famous golf architect This green just completely keeps falling away All the way to the back. False back edge. I think because he lived here he probably just came out here and messed with it all time Really mean-spirited dude. I Love seven, and I know that you were saying earlier it’s the most unlike the original Mackenzie designs I don’t care. They got those big a** trees on both sides It’s cool-looking, and it looks like you’re hitting straight down like a lane It’s like a lane with like trees on either side. It’s like hey, man, there’s a stick. It’s right out there It looks like an easy hole. I You gotta hit a straight shot, off the tee you just got to hit it straight I’ve hit iron there, I’ve hit driver, iI’ve hit 3-wood I can’t seem to mentally Strike one straight down the line I Love eight, but I think nine is just really special. Uphill holes Usually aren’t that fun. For some reason the way that green sits, and the way that all of those bunkers sit That is such a fun approach into that. Yeah, you just feel like you could rope a draw in there. Yeah TC at nine Oh my goodness Yeah all square going into the back The front is a really, really good nine. This is a great night. This is this is why you come to Pasatiempo So this is one of my favorite holes. Great drive The front line is tremendous I love the front nine, but the back nine the more I think about it on an individual hole by hole basis You have the tenth hole you tee off over this barranca, big sloping fairway. Incredible green site 11th hole, number one handicap, teeing back up the hill, again got to go back up hill over this Barranca 12 is a fine hole 13th a Beautiful par-5 banking right-to-left again. For some reasonI love right-to-left banking holes green really well protected with bunkers 14th hole you have the trench. Trench warfare, which you got involved in there and running through the 14th fairway 15th tiny little par 3 awesome green again, 16th climbing the hill into one of the best greens in the world 17th again an uphill par 4, not the best hole in the back 9 But a fun challenge, and then a finishing hole a par 3 18th and it’s just like man, you look back at it You don’t even realize it as it’s going on but you look back at it’s like holy s**t. That was a run of golf holes Randy to win the hole Yes, sir Neil set this hole up for me, you like this one? Yeah, this is my nemesis here I really like to hit it in two – that’d be a thrill Oh you’re gonna love it! Here’s Tron at 11. Got a great angle after hugging that hazard. Oh God great shot, a bit unlucky Mr. Carter four, Mr. Landis five Mr. Carter squares the match. Of course. I’m riding for the big guy But I also would love it if you lost, and we got to hang out tomorrow. You know, that is the rub of the green my friend And you know you chased all day yesterday you’re very comfortable in this position. Yeah, I’d rather be one down than one up Alright, in that case Randy good luck to you. Thank you. You know what the sad thing is about Pasatiempo. I Bet if it was totally private. It would be like even more highly regarded There’s this allure around these private clubs that are really hard to get on, and the fact that Pasatiempo opens its doors to paying paying guests is I don’t know kind of can hurt you in rankings, I guess at some point. Oh my God, look at this golf hole Alright, we find ourselves on the famous 16th hole And then you’re playing Yeah, 16 always gets you jacked up because what a hole that is You come up to the top of the hill and it just it kind of is as advertised That green is a big deal. I got 172 from here. Yeah, what do you got? A seven. I like that. Whoa Were you thinking six? He’s pretty nuclear, some big balls. That’s all I can attest to my miss has been. Where? Long left? It’s been pretty consistent all up and down the coast The fairway has so much elevation to it, it banks and you’re hitting of of this downslope into this three-tiered green I guess I never really fully understood how important it is to be on the right tier I mean, yeah it you know Everyone knows you want to be on the right tier of the green But if the pin is on a lower tier and you’re on the upper tier when the greens are fast You literally cannot keep it on the green the pro was telling us From where he punted from, which he had a ridiculous putt today because the greens were slow, He would have tried to put it into the rough Pin high onto the middle tier because he would have put it off the front of the green Like that is so freakin cool, the dramatic punishment of some of the shots there, and I feel like if we actually got those conditions you would think less about your swing and More about just positioning yourself in the right place and try to scramble. It’s true and that’d be so much fun I mean, I know gosh pretty much every corse on this trip I’d love to play again in the right conditions, but Great swing, big TC. Sit down, hit it, hit it, hit it There it is, four. TC will take a 1-up lead going to the last Alone with his thoughts Coming to the last one down 41, no wind, it’s cold got to factor in adrenaline sit I was pin-high Short, short in the front and gosh, he’s gonna have to absolutely get that one up and down for three Oh Just a bit short still leaving further, and further away from the friendzone there Tron Carter will be moving on Tron it was far from a sure thing out there, but you held it together You did just enough to keep the big guy at bay. Talk to me. What’s going through your mind? Uh really I was Crushed after 15 after Randy. I Hesitate to use the word, but he dead shanked it to the right And then he battled to make a four Nice putt. I managed a three-putt I think that was my fifth or sixth three putt of the day Randy uh gosh you had him right within your Grasp. We’ve seen Tron kind of wiggle out of those spots before, and he did it again today all credit to him there What was the difference maker for you today? I wish I could have that chip shot on 16. That was that was the match right there Leaving it short. Get up the hill Oh God is it gonna stay It is You know all in all I’m disappointed to be out of the competition, bright side I Get to join Neil for you know a couple Kind of off the record low key rounds the rest of the trip. So even though we’ll look like complete morons It should be a good time. That was probably what I was most proud of today. There were thirteen fairways, I hit twelve That’s usually gonna get it done. Honestly, I feel kind of better about my game than I have in quite some time Finally driving the ball on the planet, which is fun Hitting my irons really well, I have speed which I think I’ve mentioned today You said you mastered chipping which is another feather in your cap. I don’t know anything about Stanford. I’m rooting for I’m rooting for small greens. How about your birdie on 16? Yeah, I I’ve played here five times at Pasatiempo, and I love it. No, I lived in San Francisco, and it’s public, and it’s worth the money I paid my way and I you know scores didn’t look good at all five of those times, and I can’t wait to go back We’re stuck stuck? No, no come on. We’re not stuck. This guys coming out to take a look I felt really good about it, but we got it up here. And then I think we’re not stuck. Yeah It was a George Thomas design opened in the in the early 30s was one of the few kind of semi unfettered Thomas designs left out there familiar foe here. Let’s go get it. I mean may the best man win

  1. There were about 4 times if I didn't know if it was Big Randy or Kuch playing out there. Now all I can think about is Kuch in all orange next week and I'm excited.

  2. In the lab forming a piece on my conspiracy: Large Randalls putting stroke is the "it" that is always darker out here than our cameras make it look

  3. A lot to unpack here gentlemen
    – Neil sitting in the RV deflated without that Icarito twinkle in his eye made a little part of me die
    – Tron only being comfortable he's $200 down makes him a matchplay assassin & at the same time always will go deep in the game, getting his moneys worth from his green-fee, very on brand.
    – Randy hitting the hole on those crucial putts but none of them dropping could maybe be karma for the shady strapped deals that have been going down
    – Fire at the end of the episode and finishing the round in the dark gave me big Survivor vibes, would love to see some NLU bandanas to mark the occasion

    Bonus off topic comment
    – Tron on the latest pod saying his puke was "Non Stinky" is adjacent to Sergio spitting in the cup but saying he made sure it didn't touch the sides. Scummy.

  4. Neil should send that last credit scene into CMT to see if they could include that in the next Chris Gaines music video.

  5. Isn't it fitting for the Big Guy to fade out late like his idol, Rickie. Now he gets to dress like him too. Now needs to drink a Sh0ck Top beer (sorry, no free advertising)

  6. TC looks like bill Murray from what about bob at the beginning 😂 (also) even more excited to watch this again because could be the 🐐of your videos 🙌🏻

  7. Sucks for big Randy, but I'm looking forward to seeing big Rick's older brother make an appearance next week. Shit will be Juicy! 😎🏌️⛳

  8. I should have known that thinking Randy was "too big to fail" was a mistake… In lieu of flowers please send donations to Lehman Brothers.

  9. Big Randall,

Confront the dark parts of yourself
Work to banish them with illumination and forgiveness
Your willingness to wrestle your demons will cause your angels to sing.
Only then will you boldly cast out those demons
And calm the raging sea within.

    Always your friend,
    The 14th Club.

  10. Neil, please give my grandmother back her Blue Blockers. It's uncomfortable for her to drive without them, and you look like a homeless Bono impersonator circa 2001.

  11. With Randy channelling his inner (and outer) Rickie, hopefully he can help out his Strapped buddy Neil with his newfound understanding of what "PMI evens means" – Private Misclub Insurance.

  12. I appreciate DJ calling Randy “Mr. Landes” and yet also calling Tron “Mr. Carter.” It’s truly as if Tron and Neil actually are no longer brothers.

  13. Gotta say, I’ve binged a good amount of NLU YouTube content lately, and with the Strapped: Sanctions episode still fresh, I really wanted Big Randall to get him. Can Tron and the narc both lose next week?

  14. Dearest Randy,

It has been shown through the seventh chapter of the third season of the honorable Tourist Sauce
that you have died gloriously on the field of Pasatiempo.
I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile
you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the
consolation that may be found in the thanks of the followers of NLU.
I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave
you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours
to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of the golfing gods.

    Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
    A Fan

  15. Tron putting the entry level uprising to bed and flexing the C Suite muscle. RIP to Randy looking like a giant creamsicle at some point.

  16. With all the highs and lows, the drama unfolding I cant get the fact that in the opening scene Mr Icarito has a smile on his face that is far too big when buying a case of light beer. If Australian Border Control ever see this footage, he might not be allowed back in the country – sorry big fella

  17. “And if you gaze long enough into the barranca, the barranca will gaze back into you.”
    – Phil “Big Nietzsche” Landes

  18. Was so waiting for DJ to give us the “it’s a lot darker than our cameras appear” as the blimp flew overhead in Big Randy’s back swing. Neil giving up a d slap from Tron to hang out with Randy the next round and drink is the friendship I look for. Big Randy in all orange for the loss is the Ricky performance on 18 with a match all square we expected. #cutcostrong #strapped

  19. When Randy gets Jebby it isn’t just him that loses. We all do. Hang in there big guy, a mega bonus is in your future.

  20. Nothing I’d rather watch than the big fella grinding out putts in the twilight. I’m sure the course was even darker than the camera made it appear.

  21. This felt like watching Old Yeller for the 10th time; hoping Randy survives but knew Tron was going to put him down at the end.

  22. Big Randy with the Foreshadowing that led to his demise. In the Wolf Hammer video he clearly says “Bad news, Tron isn’t comfortable until he is down $200”.

  23. A mile from Pasatiempo there is a tourist attraction called “the mystery spot” famous for the optical illusions produced by the amount of tilt and slope the site is situated upon. In 2004 I drove a silver PT cruiser with wood paneling down from San Francisco, walked into one of the cabins there, and got so immediately disoriented that I became nauseated and threw up.

Some 15 years later I returned to the area, and on a breezy, sunny day in June, I managed to leave myself above the hole at 16. Time is a flat circle.

  24. “A giant Rickie Fowler look-alike drove an RV through our landscaping – Seen it, covered it”
WE ARE FAR****. BA BA DABA BA BA BA (no free ads)

  25. The Year of Randy didn’t quite pan out. Was hoping Gankas would have emerged on the back 9 just in time to turn things around for the big guy.

  26. FOLKS,, we haven’t seen a mid-air press like the one we got from The Golf Hawk since Icarito flapped to the tee at the 300yrd par 4 18th at Pacific Grove with driver in tow

  27. The big guy getting buzzed by the blimp on the 18th tee was not cool. Crooked Tron with the text to the pilot on the walk from 17 to 18?

  28. Trap Draw Episode 26: "We're on to 2019"
TC: Sets personal goal of improving relationship with brother Neil

    Tourist Sauce Episode 7
NS: Openly roots for brother Tron so he can spend more time with Big Randy

The level of savagery only the Franchise can appreciate.

  29. Through Pasatiempo a little standings update as described by @pooshdaddy in the theme song.

Neil (merch daddy) “bet you never left a goodbye note” early exit from the tournament and an homage to the days at google

DJ Pie – after gaining speed with Gankas “you’re moving too fast, now you’re outta control”

Soly – waiting patiently his turn at the championship “Don't act like nobody told ya, you're already gold”

TC – battling back in every single match, winning on 18 two matches in a row “You're trying to get your head right Never been so hard for you”

Big Randy – after a very tough putting scene at pasatiempo. (Lyrical liberties taken by me here) “You've probably burned a PUTT or two Chasing down those dreams You'll probably find out the hard way It's not all what it seems”

  30. Watching all of these videos of rounds so far, what's the average time per round with all the video and production surrounding the round of golf?

  31. The nice thing about watching/listening to NLU content you learn something, hearing Soly describe the canyon/valley/ditch as a Barranca, now I need to know if I can use that term on and off the golf course? Like "check out that bridge over the barranca" while driving over an interstate over a bridge over a canyon???

  32. I hope the loser’s punishments form some sort of sentence cause I like the start of Juicy Orange… or Juicy Rickie

  33. Is it even possible to be "C-Suite Muted"? — developing story. And what about the no free ads? This isn't the Big Puma, shouldn't it be the Big Tang or Big Orange Crush since no one buys any of that any more. Scummy on all parts.

  34. Boy I wish I could actually SEE the back nine, but you guys choose to play at twilight and/or not adjust the camera for every other shot. "Better production quality this season" lol

  35. I really think Tron needs to fully embrace the work horse mentality. Starting slow, but then overtaking his opponent.

  36. Time for the big guy to go full
Dreamcicle. Bonus points for a ‘stache and a Rocket Mortgage in the back pocket.

  37. Big Randy's shanks are so pure that the sound it makes resembles the purest iron shot ever, even tiger wouldnt dream of it #shankweek

  38. The Five Stages of Big Randy's swing sequence: Hope at address – Denial in the backswing – Depression at the top – Bargaining in the downswing – Acceptance in the follow through.

  39. Content I’d love to see:

    Neil off the tee
    DJ’s fairway to green
Tron’s short game (100 yards to fringe)
    Randy’s putting

    (Soly sits it out)

I’ll set the Over / Under at 17.5 over (bogey golf).

  40. The punishment is too good. Randall is just like Rickie being in the final pairing on Sunday only to disappear from the broadcast before the turn…

  41. Epic – as usual guys 👌😎
Pure class all the way – from a friend across the pond in the UK 🇬🇧
It’s currently 11:48 am and myself and 11 buddies are teeing off at Royal Dornoch in 3hrs 😃
Keep up the great content, love the banter 😎😎
    Clive aka “Johnny Balata” 😁

  42. Wouldn’t be surprised if Big Rand gets approached by a car dealership next episode to replace their inflatable man.

  43. The odds on winner for best dressed at the end of the season is currently making a run. Hold onto your bucket hat folks we are in store for a barn burner.

  44. Very on brand. C-Suite completes route of Strapped while we are blessed with “Holding Company-esque” camera angles. #protraj

  45. I was pulling for Big Randy, man that chip on 16 hurts no doubt about it! Love the channel and the content gents-awesome stuff! Anyone heading to The Northern Trust?

  46. Murderers’ Row Food Network/No Laying Up Edition:
-Chopped (Yipped: a deep dive into one man’s life long bout with the yips)
-Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives (Drivers, Chip-Ins, and Rig)
    -Restaurant Impossible (Rigarito Impossiblé)
    -Cupcake Wars (Schuster Wars)

  47. I dig the Slenderman but watching his putting stroke from the hole view makes me hold my breath. I was pulling for you big man but as a Fowler fan I want to see you in the Big Orange for Episode 8.
