If you don’t know how to train efficiently, correctly or you want to improve as fast as
possible or you don’t improve after years of training, THIS VIDEO IS FOR YOU. HOW TO IMPROVE FAST IN TABLE TENNIS. Many of us have trained from years to years,
but we don’t improve or improve slowly. Why the Chinese kids just learned table tennis
for 2 years and they improve so fast. Why? You also train in a table tennis club with
a coach, but it seems your level can’t grow up. Not many Western coaches know how to coach
correctly. To improve fast, the coach and the player
must understand the PRINCIPLES of table tennis. Today, there are 5 TIPS/ADVICES that help
you improve fast in table tennis. Take time and apply it in your training routine,
your table tennis will level up quickly! 1. Focus on “feeling”
Feeling is the first principle in table tennis in Chinese philosophy. Feeling is the way you make the ball spin. Some of us just hit the ball without the feeling
of the spin. So the quality of this shot is low as you
don’t control the spin. So the simple way to improve the feeling is:
do multi-ball like this kid. Try to impact the ball, and “focus on the
feeling”, the spin of the ball. This way, you can improve the mechanism of
the stroke too. So please remember, feeling is the most important,
and when you master the feeling, now you can try to hit hard, harder. Don’t hit hard without the feeling of the
ball. If you had a bad habit, bad mechanism of the
stroke, you should correct it now by focusing on the feeling. Try to do the simple exercises; focus on the
spin. This way will help you improve the control. You will discover your own way to spin the
ball. 2. Hit by the “legs”
The second PRINCIPLE in table tennis that Chinese emphasize is “hit by the legs”. Most western players are taught to hit with
the arm, but Chinese says “hit by the legs”. By hitting with the legs, the whole body will
also be used in the stroke: this way the stroke is stronger and much more consistent. This is the secret why Chinese players can
hit very hard as they hit the ball with the bigger stroke, a full mechanism is developed. In china, they also fixe the elbow, they don’t
let the players move freely their fore arm. This way will force the players to use his
legs, to move and hit by rotating the body. This is the best mechanism of hitting in table
tennis. You should also learn that. This training will correct your bad mechanism
and improve the consistency and also the power of the stroke. Look at the video; they rotate the body to
hit the ball. Their arm/fore arm moves just a little. So remember this: the arm is just a tool to
transfer the power to the ball, the body, legs are used to generate the power. You dont need to rotate the fore-arm to
hit the ball, but you should rotate the body. Because rotating the body is easier, faster
and stronger than rotate the fore-arm/elbow. Remember this, and your table tennis will
go up fast. 3. Fix the hitting position
I’ve asked my players that “Where should you hit the ball?”. They just dont know exactly where they
should hit the ball. They answered that they just hit the ball
at the position based on his habit. So each time, they will hit the ball at different
position, and the consistency of the stroke will therefore decrease. It’s not a good way to develop your table
tennis skill. You should know exactly, where you hit the
ball. Look at the video, the coach has asked their
students: “Wait for the ball, and fix a position before hitting”. By doing this exercises several times, you
form a good habit, a good mechanism of hitting the ball. Each time, you hit at the same position, so
the consistency, the quality is always the best. Please remember: Wait for the optimal position
before hitting the ball. You have the time. Don’t hit fast and miss the ball. Dont hit fast and dont know where you
hit the ball. 4. Relax, Explode & Relax
I have many students. And I know that you can have the same problem
of my students. You are normally too tense during the match. Table tennis doesn’t need that. It’s not necessary. The correct way is: Relax, Explode at the
moment of hitting, and relax again. If you are too tense, the feeling decreases,
the speed decreases, and you won’t move faster. You should film yourself by a camera, and
you will notice that you are very tense. Look at this video, Zhang Jike do the right
way: Relax before hitting, explode, and Relax right away. He is very flexible, he jumps, and all of
his body is very soft, flexible. Now focus on the face of Zhang Jike, you will
know the moment he applied the force (the face muscle is tense) and right after the
stroke his face returns normal so his muscle is in the relax mode. Explosiveness needs a recovery phase. So please remember, let the body relax right
after the stroke in every situation. You are quicker and faster in table tennis
in this way. RELAX, EXPLODE and RELAX! 3 steps! 5. Learn the tactics
By learning the tactics, you know where you should hit the ball to: to the opponent FH,
middle, BH, or you should hit long, or short. Tactics help you to shut down the opponent
strength, and force him to play in your style. You should find a good coach: he will help
you correct the techniques and learn the tactics. If you can’t find a coach, learn on the internet. I will be your coach. I will show you the tactics in my channel,
will help you counter various playing style. I will show you a model of coach: coach Gu
in Beijing Table Tennis School. Next video: How to choose your best rubber

  1. does anyone know what that training video is called on YouTube (where the kids in yellow are training whilst listening the Justin bieber)

  2. the chinese players dont learn it in 2 years.. maybe you meant they are trained and put in table tennis camps from 2 years old..

  3. it's not meaningful to play table tennis like that. They don't have any deeper understanding towards table tennis. They don't care things like strategy or thoughts, they only care about speed and power. Believe me, table tennis is definitely not going to be fun if you train yourself like that.

  4. I love this video… especially when you say "chiner" for china.

Whenever m daughter does a wrong movement, I always say CHINESE and she knows what I meant. Right position, speed, power and accuarcy 😉 Thanks for sharing this video!

  5. ouch, serious burn on western cultches at 1:07

but we'll have the last laugh because now that we know your eastern secrets, we will take the table tennis world by surprise!

  7. What might be the result of spin and speed if my blade is yinhe t10 plus balsa carbon offensive plus and my rubber is dhs h3neo?

  8. Hello Emratthich, I don't understand what you mean when you say "you must fix the ball" (point 3 of this video). Please, could you explain me what is "fix the ball" ? Could you show an example of ball fixing ?Thank you in advance and best wishes.

  12. I watched the 'hit with legs' segment for several minutes before I realized they weren't hitting a ball. I need to get better sleep 🙂

  13. Very good video !!! congratulations on it…it was the best table tennis tips in a decade or even more for me. I always believed in this "feeling" training, but here in Brazil people dont use that tecnique. When i train with my trainer i say "now ill train my ping pong skills" that means i want to focus on the natural feeling of hiting the ball and not makeing mistakes on passing the ball, so the focus is to "pass the ball" and not to "do the point". When i do this, sometimes i make points with her that apears with a professional game, and i love it…those are the best table tennis moments to me.

Well I play with (butterfly tamka 5000 blade),(donic coppa Jo platin rubber) on forehand, and(yasaka mark 5 rubber) on backhand, and the backhand rubber is not supporting me to play offensive. So can you suggest me a rubber and please tell some of the strategies for a left handed offensive player.

  21. Thanks coach. Your advice on feeling and spin really helped me improve a lot on executing top spin loop. I am using my body more and spinning more. The more spin, the more control. I got a new Ipong V300 during Christmas and that has really helped me also to find the conditions of a consistent good loop. Eyes on the ball when you hit.

If I want to have coaching with you.

Plus, can you suggest me a good blade and rubber, right now I have Stiga All Round Evolution with Mark V on each, small pimple. Love playing offensive!

  25. Feeling based on spin as shown in this video is more important for inverted rubber players. For pimple rubber players, feeling based on contact point and trajectory is more important.

  26. Dear Sir,
I wish to attend your videos to train myself correct and better. Please keep sharing. !

  27. Who am I ?
    why I exist?
    What is my destiny?
These questions and made the whole world .
You will find its solutions or answers only in Islam

  28. When you say hit by the legs, do you mean that we should make contact with the ball near our legs, or do you mean that we should just use our legs to generate the power to hit the ball? Or, should we do both?

  29. When you say rotate your whole body does it have to feel like your body is kinda like a whip because when i tried it it definitely felt like that

  30. Hy Coach , i play in a senior (+55 ) club and one player told me <<dont play to become an olympic player>> bla bla ,,,,here it is just for fun. I disagree because i try always to better myself …am i right ? i dont think i should play lousy because he plays lazyly <just for fun>.
