Hi everyone, I’m Fred Robinson with team body helix, and I have a tip for you that’ll help you with your game today. You’re playing a match, you have A long point. It’s a great point. You’re in a good position. You hit an approach ball and you hit it well, you hit a really nice approach shot and you come in and your opponent passes you. It’s an amazing shot. Here’s what I suggest that you do. You have a couple of options here. One is you can transfer ownership of your game to your racquet and throw your racket on the ground and say “bad racquet.” Or hat. Or you can just look at the guy and say “that’s a really nice shot. Nice playing.” And walk back. The difference in my mental energies is one of anger and frustration or one of being relaxed, acknowledging a nice shot, and walking back and getting on with the next point. Which of those two do you think will help me play a better point next? I walk back, I’m relaxed. “That was a nice play.” It’s okay to look at your opponent when you’re playing (unless he’s a or she’s a really big Butthead, then you don’t say anything.) But if they’re not, then you just say hey, “that’s really nice playing and that was a nice shot.” I’d like to see more of that in tennis. It’s really easy to do. It will help you maintain a higher standard on your court. You won’t mentally be going up and down on a roller coaster. You’ll be very even throughout the whole match. That’s my tip for today. Move through it.”
