Korean tennis player Lee Duck-hee… made
history,…by becoming the first deaf athlete to to win an ATP Tour main draw match on Monday. The 21-year-old, ranked below 2-hundreth in
the world, beat Switzerland’s Henri Laaksonen at the Winston-Salem Open in North Carolina. Lee fired nine aces on his way to claiming
the groundbreaking victory. It’s a feat nothing short of amazing, as he
is unable to hear calls from the line judges or the umpire, and relies on signals and gestures
to communicate. The Korean phenom will face 3rd seed Hubert
Hurkacz of Poland, next.
