Welcome to the James Naismith Classic here
in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We get our historic and exciting afternoon
of college hoops underway with a terrific matchup between Harvard out of the Ivy League
and Buffalo from the Mid-American Conference. You want to start building some consistency,
good strong take this time from Kirkwood. Sakota, there’s another one, with a good touch
leaves it up on the rim for the put back. To an Ivy League team, as you and I get the
opportunity to do, like Mr. Aiken. Great back cut, Bassey recovers off the deflection
and he’s got a chance for three. Makes it 26-23, Lewis able to answer inside. He played for Mick Cronin, think he knows
how to play a little bit of D? That was a poor pass, boy going coast to coast. Aiken, step back, oh come on. That’s a two point shot. I love it though. Harvard in the second half, which includes
three Canadians, nifty move down the lane by the young man from Ottawa, Noah Kirkwood. Communication that time defensively gives
up the open shot. Well I tell you what, Bassey is ready to shoot. Gets it back, Sakota. They were playing that possession. Ledlum, again. This time able to get it to fall. Tough shot, banked in by Aiken. Contested three, without numbers back. Kirkwood misses after the great up fake, keeps
his head up to find Lewis! Aiken got himself in a little bit of trouble,
kept his composure, found Lewis who lays it in. Buffalo is 8 of 13 from beyond the 3-point
line here in the second half. Kirkwood lays it in. Preseason NIT, doesn’t get much better than
that.
