THAN A MONTH AWAY, BUT CLEARLY IT FEELS LIKE IT’S A DAY IN FEBRUARY, REMEMBER. METEOROLOGIST ED CURRAN LIVE WITH THE MOBILE WEATHER LAB IN LINCOLN PARK, WHERE SOME FOLKS ARE PLAYING PADDLE TENNIS. NOTHING UNUSUAL THERE. IT’S JUST SO WARM OUTSIDE. ED? REPORTER: ABSOLUTELY WARM OUT HERE. WE’RE LOOKING AT TEMPERATURES THAT ARE ABOUT 43 AND A HALF DEGREES NOW IN THE MOBILE WEATHER LAB. SO TEMPERATURES LIKE THAT IS WHY EVERYBODY’S ASKING, WHERE’S THE SNOW? IT’S INCREDIBLE. WE HAVEN’T HAD SNOW SINCE ABOUT THE THIRD WEEK IN DECEMBER, AND WE’VE ONLY SEEN ABOUT 18 AND A HALF INCHES OF SNOW AROUND HERE. AND BY THIS TIME, WE OUGHT TO HAVE A COUPLE OF FEET OF SNOW THAT’S FALLEN IN CHICAGO. AS WITH DAVID FEHERTY, WE’LL TAKE — TEMPERATURES ABOUT TWO-THIRDS OF THE MONTH IN FEBRUARY ABOVE THE NORM, AND WE CONTINUE TO WARM. IN FACT, WE THREATEN A RECORD ON SATURDAY. MARY KAY SAYS IT WILL BE 60. THE RECORD IS 62 DEGREES BACK HERE AT LAKE SHORE’S SPORT AND FINANCE. THEY’RE OUTSIDE, PLAYING PADDLE TENNIS. THEY PLAY WHEN IT’S 0 OUTSIDE, BECAUSE THESE COURTS ARE HEATED. TODAY NO PROBLEM WITH THAT. IT’S VERY, VERY MILD FOR PADDLE TENNIS IN THE NIGHTTIME OUT HERE AT LAKE SHORE.
