(sound of girl hitting ball) “Nice Aerial!” At the Little Falcons volleyball camp, ‘serve’
is more than just a sports term. “Hey, good approach. Good swing.” For the third straight year, Southeast High
is hosting a volleyball camp for girls 8 to 14 years old. And among the people giving an assist? Student-athletes from the school’s volleyball
team. They’re volunteering their time during the
week-long camp to help others. “It’s an opportunity that we give the
players. Each year they can volunteer. They’re able to earn service hours. And I just think it’s a great opportunity
for them to give back to the community.” Genesis Clark is a rising junior at Southeast. She says volunteering at this camp is a great
way to give back. “A lot of fun! I love working with kids, as tiring as they
can be but I like to be able to share the sport that I love and I like to be able to
teach it to other people and help people grow and be better.”
