the Grand Valley State women’s tennis
team returns to action today in NCAA tournament play after nearly a month off
from their last competition the Lakers are riding a six match win streak and
will have met Hillsdale at 10:00 a.m. this morning during the taping of this
show in the NCAA Midwest region two first round match at the Wayne State
University tennis courts in Detroit Michigan the Lakers entered the
tournament as the number three seed while the Chargers are tagged as the
number six seed the last time these teams met was in October of 2016
where GVSU came out on top seven to two the winner of the match will face
either the number-two Wayne State or number six walls during duel matches
GVSU has posted an excellent record in singles as they’ve gone 110 and 30 and
have tally 252 and 18 record in doubles additionally this is GVSU’s 19th
straight year advancing to NCAA postseason play dating back to the 2000
2001 campaign the Grand Valley State men’s tennis team
fell to Wayne State four to one in the NCAA Midwest region to
tournament on Saturday May 11th GVSU scored the matches first point after
they won in doubles from the number two and number three pairings Jack Tyler and
DJ Colantone captured a victory from the number-two spot while the duo of
Nicholas Urban and Jack Dausman tally to win from the number three doubles the
Lakers were unable to hold their lead as Wayne State scored four straight points
to win the match urban fell from number five singles
while Eric Zwemer was defeated from the number six position WSU scored its
final two points after Geissler fell on a tough three set match in the number-two
spot while Dausman was defeated at number
three singles the Lakers end their season with an overall record of 16 and
