The Grand Valley State men’s tennis team
started in 2019 season with a six 2-0 home win over the Wildcats of Indiana
Wesleyan on Thursday night at premier athletic and Tennis Club GVSU started
off strong after they swept Indiana Wesleyan in double to take a 1o lead the
Lakers scored their first points after Nicholas urban and Jack dousman won from
the number three pairing before another victory from the number-two spot is
Martin Matt table and Jack Geisler won six to three
the Lakers also saw another victory from the number one doubles position as
Sebastian Lescoulie and DJ Colantone won the Lakers continued their strong play
with singles as they won five more matches over the course of the night
Dausman won in three sets from the number three spot as he would take the
first set six to three before falling in the second set three to six he then came
back strong winning the third set by a score of 10 to 6 in their second match
of the week GVSU men’s tennis defeated Indiana Tech on Saturday the Lakers at
200 on the season the Lakers scored first after they swept the Warriors in
doubles play sebastian Lescoulie and DJ Colantone captured a win from the number
one pairing while jack Geissler and martin matov won from the number
two position the Lakers completed the sweep after Nicholas urban and Jack
Dausman won from the number three doubles position in singles GVSU was
able to take five out of the six matches playing from the number one singles was
with SchoolI who won while Keisler won from the number two position Grand
Valley State will hit the road next week as they travel to Southfield Michigan to
take on Lawrence Tech on Saturday before returning home on Sunday for an N region
match against wolves at the premier athletic and tennis club the Grand Valley State women’s tennis
team returned to action on Thursday night as they hosted the Indiana
Wesleyan Wildcats and won six to one in doubles play the Wildcats would take the
doubles point after they won two out of the three matches
Madison Ballard and Maria Leko won from the number two pairing but the
Wildcats would win from the number one and number three positions to capture
the point in singles Grand Valley State made its comeback as they won their next
six matches Leko won from the number three spot as she won in three sets
while Greenville won from the number two slot playing from the number-one singles
position was Ballard who won in three sets after she dropped the first set
before coming back to win the second and third set the team would then defeat
Indiana Tech 7-0 on Saturday to improve to 12 and 2 on the season the Lakers got
off to a hot start in doubles as they swept the Warriors to take the point
Madison powered Emery Alico paired at the number one position and one while
Marilee Canellopoulos and Vera Griva captured a victory from the number two
position the Lakers strong play carried over to singles as they want all six
matches playing out of the number one slot was Ballard who won while grieve
Italia sweeping win from the number two single spot
Grand Valley state’s final home match of the 2018-19 season will be this Sunday
at 5:30 p.m. when they host Walsh at the premier athletic and tennis club in
Grandville the Lakers will also honor their five seniors that night as well
