hey certainly is the road to the 2020 Summer Olympics seen right here on KOAT continue strong and a former Tucson high diver continues to make world headlines in the sport u of a junior Delaney Snell has just taken home a bronze medal in the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima Peru chanel teamed up with fellow American amy Magana and the women’s synchronized 10-meter platform her efforts gave Team USA its sixth diving medal of the pan-american games this is footage from a special report I did on Snell before the 2016 at Summer Olympics winning a gold medal has been her dream for years and on Saturday at the Lima Peru 2019 Pan Am Games she had just missed out on another medal she now finished fourth in the women’s ten meter final came down to the last dive and schnell finished just one point to five points behind bronze medalist Alejandra Orozco of Mexico it was just a few weeks ago that Delaney Chanel won a bronze medal at the FINA World Championships in South Korea she helped snap a 15 year drought by Americans ten meter divers at least in that competition and one of the world’s largest events so congrats to her she came so close to a bronze medal a couple days ago and now she takes it home in the 10 meter synchronized along with her teammate Magana who’s from Indianapolis a fun to see her in the Olympics that way we hope so a year from now we’ll be watching the Olympics right here on kvla hope to see another Tucson connection all right all right I’ll be right back right after the break with your last check of weather
