and we have seen the qualifying done and dusted for the week. It’s a new week
where we have 29 Australians taking part in the ITF, WTA and ATP events across Europe
Asia and North America. The big one is the Cincinnati Masters for the men and
the Premier Five level event for the women in Cincinnati, and we have Nick
Kyrgios playing in the men’s Ash Barty, Daria Gavrilova and Ajla Tomjanovich who came through qualifying. We’ve also got two challenger events
with Australians playing in them. One’s in Vancouver and we have Mark Polmans,
Alex Bolt, Jason Kubler and Thanasi Kokkinakis along with Jordan Thompson
playing in that one. Over in South Korea we’ve got Alexei Popyrin looking to
back up from his great win last week, got Bradley Mousley, Maverick Banes, Blake
Ellis and Akira Santillan. Playing in ITF events on the men’s tour we have
over in Romania Scot Puodziunas in the USA f23 futures we’ve got Andrew Harris
over in China we’ve got Jeremy Beale as the only Australian in that one, in
Germany the f12 $15,000 futures we’ve got Nicolas Horton playing well so got
William Ma, Edward Bourchier, Aaron Addison and Alexander Babanine playing in Gimcheon
$15,000 ITF event and with the women there’s not that many playing
we’ve got Isabelle Wallace who’s already lost their first round match playing in
Spain in a $25,000 level event. In Thailand we’ve got Destanee Aiava, Naiktha
Bains and Kayla Mcphee all playing today and in the Netherlands the final
tournament of the ITF we have Alana Parnaby playing. So after last week
where we saw Thanasi Kokkinakis and Alexei Popyrin win challenger titles, we
also had Ash Barty and John Peers winning prestigious level tournaments in doubles.
