There are many tennis ball exrecises. Everybody do it. Something I saw other people doing. Something I have invented myself. Tennis ball on a rubber band is quite interesting. I like it. It is very useful for coordination training. Vision and muscle reaction. I highly recommend it. I will show a simple exercise with a ball. Catch it please It will help you with your boxing stance, Shoulders’ position… Gives you relexation … So that you can deliver a punch working with a ball. In short it is very good for coordination. OK. If you stand straight the ball will go around you. You will do this movement with your elbow. With a tennis ball you should work similar to a basketball ball. I am not hitting the ball. I am pushing it down and rotating it. Here is a boxing movement from a shoulder. Also I have dropped my shoulders. My shoulders are located above the ball. The hand pushes the ball and then goes back to the chin. There are several modification of this exercise. You can do it with steps, in a frontal position. I am going forward and back, to the left, to the right. You can move with side steps. While side stepping you can change the direction. You can go around the ball. You can do two side steps for each ball pushing. Sharp changing of the direction. One – op – change – Two bidirectional movements for one ball hit. One-one-two. I did it. Or you can do pendulum steps while throwing punches. What else? You can intermittenly push the ball and punch. Here is an important hint. I am not trying to push the ball faster Same movement, same speed. I just punch. Punch, punch, Two punches in a row. And always keep my boxing stance Coordination, boxing stance – these two things … allow me to work in a free and relaxed manner with a ball improving my footwork, my boxing stance improving my body movements. And of course it improves visiual and muscular reflexes. That’s it.
